Regaining Weight Can Be Reversed.
Regaining weight may happen if you revert to some of your old behaviors.
As recovering food and carbohydrate addicts, we face the same dangers that nicotine, alcohol and drug addicts face--the danger of falling off the wagon.
We may began by adding another glass of wine or a rich dessert to the evening meal. We go back to having a coffee and sweet roll for breakfast or a big bowl of cereal. The next thing we know is that we are gaining weight rapidly. We are into
fat storage.
If we don’t catch ourselves right away, we may spiral down and lose all that we have gained. Or in the case of the food addict--gain all that we’ve lost.
Sometimes it doesn’t take much to trigger an episode of regaining weight. Ongoing family problems, loss of employment, having to move to an unfamiliar neighborhood or city, financial problems, illness or injury. Some comfort food and drink is called for.
Journaling
may be the answer to these kinds of problems. Talk your problems over with yourself in your journal. Putting it on paper may help you get over your anger and frustration and strengthen your resolve to get back on track.
