So the first thing to look at is what we put into our bodies. After all, “you are what you eat.” We touched on that in the meal planning page and decided that our meals should be based on healthful, low fat, low sugar foods, such as: Proteins, to provide us with the essential amino acids for body building and to provide staying power to our appetite. Fruits and Vegetables to provide fiber, vitamins. Antioxidants, to chase away those free radicals. Whole grains, for complex carbohydrates and fiber. Fat-free dairy foods for the calcium to build our bones and for cellular processes. Water, the healthiest drink for weight loss, supple healthy skin, better digestion and colon health, a healthier urinary system, and for eliminating toxins from your system. What about some of the things we enjoy, such as chocolate? Who can live without that? Or a glass of wine with dinner? And coffee? Recent research has shown all three of those to be beneficial, not only to the body but also to our senses. The answer of course is moderation. We need to eat meals high in protein; rich in vegetables; fruit and grain in moderation; and go easy on the chocolate , wine, and coffee. As for sweets and desserts, mostly they are comfort foods. We can have them occasionally. I don’t have to tell you what sugar and fats do to your body, especially if consumed together. Not only do they make you fat, they are causes of major medical problems such as diabetes and coronary disease caused by high cholesterol and inflammation. We damage our health when we put other substances in our bodies that cannot even be classified as food, they are really poisons Examples are nicotine, alcohol, drugs, chemicals, and fake foods. Eating nutritious foods, exercising, and detoxing are actions you can take now to achieve your weight loss goal of optimal health. Who knows? It might even make you beautiful! _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Check out the following links to learn more.
